Capris from Topkids 63 #24

I sized these capri's up one size to a 152 for dd #1. They are made from a stretch denim. This pattern had a few mistakes in the directions. If I make them again I need to remember to wait to put the yoke on until after the zipper is completely in and then treat it as a waistband. Also, make the yoke piece that lies on the bottom a little longer to accommodate the fly shield. This will resolve the issues I had. The bottom section of the legs is supposed to be split on the outside of the leg but my dd didn't want that. This made the pants easier because the pattern doesn't really leave a lot of room for hemming that split. I probably didn't need to size this up as it is designed for a cotton fabric, not stretch. I ended up using a larger seam allowance on the outside of the legs and adding two darts in the back waistband to get them to fit better. They fit very nicely. Just haven't had them on her since I got them finished.

Hot pants shorts from Ottobre 2/2004 #34

This is the second time I made these hot pants shorts for dd#1. The first was definitely easier. They are a size 152 made out of a stretch denim. The fit on these is wonderful. I did have to recut the waistband as it was too short and had to make the darts a little bigger than the pattern recommends. I will definitely use this pattern more in the future.
